Idlers 2011 Christmas Show and Gumbo

This years Christmas Show and Gumbo was a big success. Thanks to all who attended and contributed to this years event. Chef Patrick and all his helpers did a good job with the Chicken Gumbo.

Idlers Christmas Show December 3, 2011 2 PM

Don't miss the big event of the year. The Idlers Christmas Show will be held December 3, 2011 starting at 2PM. A chicken and sausage Gumbo will be provided. Please bring a cover dish if you can. During the event we will play a White Elephant Game. If you want to participate please bring $10.00 - $20.00 gift.

Moss Bluff Harvest Festival

Moss Bluff Harvest Festival Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show November 19, 2011. About 25 Idlers Show Cars attended this event. New cars and trucks included two 1955 Chevy's and three Willy's Jeeps. One was a nice looking Jeepster. See some of the cars and trucks below.

The Little Troopers Benefit was a big success!

The Little Trooper Benefit held on November 12, 2011 was a big success. Several thousand dollars was raised for the children of deployed soldiers of Calcasieu parish. Idlers Car Cub and Contraband Corvette alone raised over $1,000.00. A local motorcycle club raised $700.00. In attendance was the Idlers Car and Truck Club, the Contraband Corvette Club and a local Motorcycle Club.

Idlers Show for the "Little Troopers" of Calcasieu Parish November 12th 2011

The Idlers have been asked to participate in the "LITTLE TROOPERS BENEFIT" which is a benefit for the children of deployed soldiers of Calcasieu parish. The money raised is used to ensure that these children get Christmas gifts. There will be Elvis impersonators, an auction, games for the kids, food and more.

The benefit will be held on November 12th 2011 at the American Legion Post 407 in Westlake, LA on Johnstein Rd. (The last red light going north on Sampson St in Westlake) Registration will be from 8:00 am until 9:30 am. There will be 5 awards given out at the show.

This is a very worthy cause so please try to come out on November 12th.

For Sale a 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS. She was an original SS 327 Granada Gold metallic, with black top, gold interior and built in Canada. It had a ground up restoration in 2006 and converted to a SS427. The hood was replaced with an original rare 1967 SS427.

The pictures do not give her justice! This has been a project of love and I am only selling because of my age and disability and as I am having a difficult time maintaining her in the condition she deserved. I have so much more in her than I am asking and have the receipts to show everything done to her.

A festival celebrating Jean Lafitte and his hidden treasures in Southwest Louisiana!

Join us at the Contraband Days Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show May 7th 2011. Gates open at 10AM south of the Civic Center. Enter on Clarence St. Judging begins at 1PM. There will be 20 categories. Plaques and prizes will be awarded at 3:00 p.m.

Entry fee is $20.00 day of show. $15.00 pre-entry (RECEIVED BY MAY 2,2011). You can pick up entry forms at any O'REILLY STORE or visit Contraband Days web site.
